Savage Lies: What, Can’t He Count?

November 18, 2008 | Comments Off

What’s going on over at Savage Land?

Yesterday, Savage announced in big, bold letters on his Web site that the “first printing” of his “autobiography” had been sold out.

Today, according to that same Web site, there are only a few copies left of his “first printing.”

Which is it Savage? Did you find another box hidden behind your hope chest?

Keep the faith.

Michael Savage is such a pussy.

According to a press release from a company called Anamolus Publishing, an author named Hilmer von Campe is going to appear on Savage’s radio program tomorrow to explain how the election of Barack Obama mirrors the Nazi rise to power in 1930s Germany.

Yup, he’s going there.

But it’s interesting that he’s going there through a surrogate. Savage doesn’t have the balls to say what he really thinks about Obama. He’s going to let some former alleged Hitler youth do his talking — and, presumably, take the hits — for him.

According to the press release, this von Campe wrote:

Today in America we are witnessing a repeat performance of the tragedy of 1933 when an entire nation let itself be led like a lamb to the Socialist slaughterhouse. This time, the end of freedom is inevitable unless America rises to her mission and destiny.

And further:

Hilmar points to events surrounding the election of Barack Hussein Obama as reminiscent of the way the Nazi regime came to power.

Nice, huh?

I don’t know who this fellow is, I’ve never heard of him. The press release claims he’s world famous, and that may be true. I don’t make it a practice to read every word written by right-wing nutjobs.

But I do know this: By having this guy do his dirty work, Savage is showing himself for what he really is, an intellectual coward who does not have the courage of his convictions.

Keep the faith.

I’m just going to repost this blog item from Crosstar, which is the Web site for the Learned, Ms. Nationalist movement led by Richard Barrett. I had some dealings with Barrett nine or 10 years ago, when I covered his group’s exploits in Manville, NJ.

Anyway, here’s the post:

Rival Nationalist party aborted

Israeli-lobbyist abandons plan to twist movement

NEW YORK - A Jewish talk-show host, who had boasted that he would launch a “Nationalist” party, to try to gain support for Israel, has abandoned his quest on the grounds that The Nationalist Movement is too well-established and that the association of the word “nationalism” with “racism” was too much for him. Paul Weiner, a Russian-Jew who goes by the pseudonym “Michael Savage,” had insisted that he could counter Nationalist opposition to Israel and the Afghan-Iraq invasion by starting an organization using the same name, but shifting its purpose. Weiner had postulated that he would succeed, because he had campaigned to characterize “conservatives,” who oppose Israel, as “supporters” of the Zionist-state, over his Savage Nation show.

According to Barry Hackney, Weiner told his audience that he “discovered” that the name “Nationalist” is “already being used by a group, which has a tinge of racism” and that he “did not want to involve race” in his party. He omitted that at the top of his agenda is supporting his own race, but denying others the prerogative of supporting their race. Alan Colmes, also an Israeli-lobbyist, in an interview with The Nationalist Movement, affirmed that Colmes “supports the State of Israel,” but opposes Nationalists. However, a Topix Blog post cast doubt on Weiner’s excuse. “Nationalists, based out of Mississippi, won’t stand for it. They’ll at least sue over the use of the name,” observed the blog. “They don’t like Savage because he’s Jewish.”

Fits and hits

Weiner has been plagued with broadcast, as well as political, woes. He was booted off Westwood One for “going over the edge” in his Alan-Berg-style of insulting callers. Berg, a Denver talk-show host, was killed by irate listeners, who objected to his slurs against America. The “Berg-style” had been picked up by Don Imus and Morton Downey, both of whom were, also, kicked off the air for crudeness. Weiner, whose tax-exemption had been revoked by the Internal Revenue Service, had predicted that Mitt Romney would face Hillary Clinton in the presidential-election and that Romney, a Confederate-flag foe, would win. He had, also, feigned opposing amnesty and homosexuality, while supporting Israel, which Hackney said “gave Nationalists a few fits, but, also, a few extra hits.”

Another Jewish personality, Andrew Greenbaum, had formed the “American Nationalist Party,” but quickly disbanded and went into hiding, when threatened with a lawsuit by The Nationalist Movement. Greenbaum was, also, fined $13 million by a Virginia federal-court for spamming. Ryan Wilson had tried to launch a “United States Nationalist Party,” but was, likewise, threatened with litigation by the Nationalists. Wilson was fined $1.1 million by the Housing and Urban Development Department for advocating bombing over the Internet and shut down by a Pennsylvania state-court, after which he went into hiding. A successor “United States Nationalist Party” turned its domain over to the Nationalists, when accosted for trademark-infringement.

Of course, Savage’s first name is Michael, not Paul.

I missed the show where Savage announced he was not going to form the “Nationalist” party, and I wonder if that was the same one where he decided on “Savage Nation Party.” At any rate, I’ve written a few times here how Savage would more than likely be sued by Barrett’s organization (he’s a Rutgers University trained lawyer who has been successful a number of times in suits brought on behalf of his organization) if he went with the “Nationalist” name.

And that’s all beyond that fact that they hate him because he’s Jewish. One of my posts gave a sample of what some like-minded folks thought of Savage and his proposal, and it wasn’t pretty.

I had to chuckle where Savage said he “discovered” the nationalist name was used, and that it was used by a white power group. Discovered, just like he “discovered” the phrase, “truth to power.”

And Mr. Barrett, don’t let his protestations fool you; he’s in your camp. In fact, he even has written lyrics to a song called “White Man,” which he copyrighted but never published.

Anyway, I haven’t heard another peep out of Savage about his new party. I’m sure it will go the way of the planned “event” he talked about, the ones that would attract thousands of people.

The man certainly has an imagination.

Keep the faith.

In Defense of Barney, The White House Dog

November 7, 2008 | Comments Off

So by now you’ve heard the incident involving King George the Fabricator’s dog, Barney, and a Reuters reporter, in which Barney took a small bite out of the reporter’s finger when he tried to pet him.

Barney is a Scottish Terrier, a breed with which I’ve had some experience. When I was very little, one of my aunts gave us her Scottie, DD. DD was a nice enough dog, but he could get snappy if he felt threatened. (He also had a maddening habit of digging under the back yard fence and leading my older brother on many chases through the neighborhood, but that’s another story.)

Now, I’ve seen the video of this incident and I’m pretty confident in saying this was not Barney’s fault.

Anyone who has spent 10 minutes with a dog knows that there are right and wrong ways to approach a dog when the two of you have first met.

The wrong way is the method used by the Reuters reporter: move on him quickly and then stick your hand out at his head. Really dumb. The dog thinks he is being attacked and will, rightfully, defend himself.

The correct way is to approach him slowly, speak softly and put both hands out in front of you, palms out. This is so the dog can sniff your hands, see that you’re not a threat and let you pet him without taking out a chunk of your hand.

So there you have it.

Keep the faith.

Savage Lies, The Half-Truths, Distortions and Outright Lies of a Right-Wing Blowhard, gets behind the comments of right-wing radio host Michael Savage (nee Weiner) and exposes the lies he uses to support his positions.

Peter Werbe, host of Nightcall on Detroit's WRIF, had this to say about Savage Lies: "I always thought Weiner was a liar, but 'Savage Lies' exposing the extent of them is really astounding."

And Brad Kava, former columnist for the San Jose Mercury News and blogger at Brad Kava's Radio Soup, said this: "Bowman refutes the untruths in Savage's writings. He'd need dozens of volumes to handle the lies on the radio shows. I'm glad someone is doing God's work and not letting a demagogue get away with spouting any garbage that comes to mind, and ditto and dumbo heads will follow along mindlessly."
